We are pleased to announce that the 1st CME cum Workshop "AIIMS PHYSIOCON" is being organized by the Physiotherapy, AIIMS Patna, on 22nd July 2017

 

Holistic Health is defined as a complete approach to health that emphasizes the need to look at the whole person including the physical, emotional, mental, social and spiritual aspects. Achieving optimum health is not treating a disease but preventing a disease. Holistic Health implies that people accept responsibility for their own level of well-being and take charge of their own health.  The holistic practitioner has a very important role in this kind of treatment. Physiotherapist also  need to understand that it is not possible to treat patients without taking into consideration the psychological and social aspects of the patient’s illness. The understanding that a patient could be physically fit, but emotional problems or social isolation could make him very sick, determines the need to view disease as a disturbance to the whole organism. 

 

In view of these developments, Physiotherapists of All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Patna decided to organize first annual CME cum workshop to understand and spread awareness about Place of Physiotherapy in Holistic Health. The theme of this year's CME is “Physiotherapy: Constituent of Holistic Health” 

 

The programme is scheduled for one day with didactic lectures in morning session and interactive workshop in the afternoon. I cordially invite you all to actively participate in this important CME and share your findings and experiences through invited lectures, and poster presentations.

 

On heavy demand of young physiotherapists we are also organizing two hands-on workshops on 22nd July 2017 in which participants will be able to experience and learn various skills on their own. 

 

We are hopeful that experts like Dr. Senthil P Kumar, HOD, Department of Physiotherapy, Sharda University, Greater Noida and Dr. Prabhat Ranjan, Department of Neurology, AIIMS, New Delhi  will be resource person for these workshop.
